What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you interact with it. Similar technologies — such as local storage and session storage — serve similar purposes and are covered by this policy.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies are required for the service to function. They cannot be disabled. They do not require consent under RA 10173 because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.
| Cookie / key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
next-auth.session-token | Keeps you logged in to the Akauntants app | 30 days (rolling) |
next-auth.csrf-token | Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
akauntants_cookie_consent (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie consent choices | 1 year |
__Secure-next-auth.callback-url | Redirects you to the correct page after login | Session |
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site and app so we can improve them. These cookies require your consent under RA 10173.
| Tool | Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog | Product analytics: feature usage, funnel analysis, session recordings (when enabled) | PostHog Inc., United States |
| Google Analytics 4 | Website traffic analysis (marketing site only) | Google LLC, United States |
Analytics data is pseudonymized where possible. We do not use analytics cookies to build personal profiles or to track you across unrelated websites.
Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies track your visit to our site and may be used to show you relevant advertisements on other websites. These cookies require your explicit consent under RA 10173. We currently use limited marketing tracking:
| Tool | Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ads (via GTM) | Conversion tracking for Google Search and Display ads | Google LLC, United States |
| Facebook Pixel | Conversion tracking for Facebook/Instagram ads | Meta Platforms, United States |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag | Conversion tracking and B2B audience targeting for LinkedIn Ads | LinkedIn Corp., United States |
| Twitter/X Pixel | Conversion tracking for Twitter/X ads (stub — not yet active) | X Corp., United States |
| Quora Pixel | Conversion tracking for Quora ads (stub — not yet active) | Quora Inc., United States |
| Reddit Pixel | Conversion tracking for Reddit ads (stub — not yet active) | Reddit Inc., United States |
Marketing cookies are disabled by default. All platforms load only after you opt in via the consent banner. Stub platforms (Twitter/X, Quora, Reddit) are scaffolded but not yet active — this table will be updated when campaigns begin.
RA 10173 consent model
Under Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), personal data may only be collected and processed with the data subject's consent, except where another lawful basis applies.
Our consent model:
- Essential cookies: No consent required (legitimate interest / contractual necessity).
- Analytics cookies: Opt-in consent required. Off by default.
- Marketing cookies: Opt-in consent required. Off by default.
We do not use a "soft opt-in" model or pre-ticked boxes. You must actively select analytics or marketing cookies before they are activated.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling all cookies may affect the functionality of the service. Instructions for common browsers:
