Philippine Payroll Compliance Notes

SSS contributions are computed based on the monthly salary credit (MSC) table updated by the SSS. The XLSX version includes a lookup formula referencing the current contribution table.

PhilHealth is computed at 5% of monthly basic salary, split equally between employer and employee (2.5% each), with a ceiling of ₱100,000 monthly salary (maximum employee share: ₱2,500/month).

Pag-IBIG employee contribution is 2% of monthly compensation, with a maximum contribution based on a ₱5,000 salary cap (₱100/month maximum employee share for those earning above ₱5,000).

Withholding tax on compensation uses the BIR's tax table for the applicable pay frequency. The XLSX version includes built-in tax table lookups for semi-monthly and monthly payrolls.

How to Use the XLSX Version

  1. Enter employee details in the employee master sheet.
  2. Input gross earnings per pay period in the payroll run sheet.
  3. The template auto-computes SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and withholding tax.
  4. Print or save individual payslips from the payslip sheet (one tab per employee, or use the print area).
  5. The 13th month tracker accumulates basic salary month by month for year-end computation.

Legal Reminder

Philippine employers are required to issue payslips to employees for every pay period under the Labor Code. The payslip must show gross pay, all deductions with amounts, and net pay. Failure to issue payslips is a labor standards violation subject to DOLE inspection.
