Accountant with Trainer Experience

We're looking for a CPA or experienced bookkeeper who loves teaching. You'll own the training and certification program for Akauntants โ€” building curriculum, running live sessions, recording modules, and helping business owners understand their books. You'll also be our in-house accounting expert: answering complex BIR and GAAP questions, reviewing product features for accuracy, and writing the accounting content that goes into our help center and guides.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver onboarding training for new business customers and accountant partners
  • Build and maintain the Akauntants Certification Program curriculum
  • Run weekly live training sessions (recorded for on-demand access)
  • Write accounting guides, glossary entries, and help center articles
  • Review product features for BIR accuracy and flag compliance issues
  • Answer escalated accounting questions from support tickets
  • Collect feedback from users and translate it into product improvement suggestions

Qualifications

  • CPA license preferred; experienced bookkeeper with BIR filing background accepted
  • At least 2 years of experience training or teaching (corporate, academic, or self-produced)
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English and Filipino
  • Comfortable working in front of a camera for live and recorded sessions
  • Familiar with BIR e-filing, VAT, withholding tax, and Philippine payroll
  • Self-directed โ€” you manage your own schedule and deadlines

Customer Support Representative with Accounting Background

You'll be the first voice Akauntants customers hear when they need help. This is not a script-reading role. Our customers are real Philippine business owners with real accounting questions โ€” they need someone who understands both the software and what it's trying to do. You'll handle chat, email, and escalations, and you'll play a key role in closing the feedback loop between customers and the product team.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via chat and email within SLA targets
  • Troubleshoot product issues and escalate bugs with clear reproduction steps
  • Help customers understand BIR-related workflows within the product
  • Document common issues and contribute to help center articles
  • Identify patterns in customer feedback and surface them to the product team
  • Participate in live training sessions as a co-host or Q&A moderator
  • Assist with onboarding calls for new business customers

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of bookkeeping, accounting, or BIR filing experience
  • At least 1 year of customer-facing support experience (software support preferred)
  • Excellent written communication in English; Filipino communication a plus
  • Patient, calm, and genuinely interested in helping people
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly
  • Available to work weekdays and at least 2 Saturdays per month (8amโ€“8pm PHT coverage)

IT Staff โ€” BIR POS & CAS Accreditation Specialist

A niche but critical role. You'll own the BIR POS accreditation and Computerized Accounting System (CAS) accreditation process for Akauntants and for enterprise customers who need assistance. This means dealing with the BIR directly โ€” submitting applications, attending hearings, responding to queries, and keeping up with changing BIR regulations. You'll also support customers through their own accreditation journey and write the technical documentation that helps them navigate it.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Akauntants' own BIR POS and CAS accreditation and annual renewal
  • Support enterprise customers through their BIR POS / CAS accreditation process
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of BIR accreditation requirements and procedures
  • Liaise with BIR examiners, prepare supporting documentation for audits
  • Monitor BIR revenue regulations and circulars for changes affecting accreditation
  • Write technical guides and checklists for customers undergoing accreditation
  • Coordinate with the engineering team when system changes affect accreditation compliance

Qualifications

  • Direct experience with BIR POS accreditation or CAS accreditation โ€” this is non-negotiable
  • Familiarity with BIR Revenue Regulations on computerized accounting systems (RR 9-2009, RR 5-2014, related RMCs)
  • Comfortable preparing and submitting BIR documentary requirements
  • Able to attend in-person BIR meetings when required (Metro Manila and key regional offices)
  • Strong written communication for preparing formal documents
  • IT background (networking, software, or database) helpful but not required
